The Iryo ETR 1000 is one of the most recognisable high-speed trains running on the Spanish network today. Arnold reproduces it in N scale under reference HN2622S with the characteristic Iryo livery, in a four-element base set that includes a DCC sound decoder as standard. No preparation needed: the train arrives ready to run digitally straight out of the box.
Four elements, full traction and DCC sound
The set combines a powered unit with cab and three trailer coaches. The high-performance motor drives all axles of the powered unit, and the flywheel delivers smooth acceleration and braking. The sound decoder fits the Next18 socket (NEM 662) and includes a sugar cube speaker. The three white front lights and two red rear lights switch automatically according to the direction of travel and are managed digitally. The pantograph is functional but not electrified.
Confirmed technical data
N scale (1:160), minimum operating radius 192 mm, Era VI (2007present), series 109, number ETR 1000, operator Iryo. Non-metal bodyshell. The set does not include a close coupler or interior lighting in the trailer coaches.
On the layout, a contemporary high-speed train
In N scale, four elements of an ETR 1000 already deliver a convincing high-speed train impression: the aerodynamic silhouette and Iryo livery are recognisable even on short stretches of track. For those who want to extend the consist, Arnold has a complementary expansion set planned. With a minimum radius of 192 mm, it fits comfortably into medium-sized N scale layouts without needing especially generous curves, making it easy to integrate into an already planned layout.
