The Arnold HN4345 set brings together three RENFE passenger coaches in N scale: a T2 coach in blue, a T2 coach in white and a D8 van in red. The colour combination is no accident it reflects the chromatic variety that defined RENFE passenger rolling stock during eras IV and V, and on a layout it creates a visually recognisable consist without needing to add anything else.
A night train consist ready for the layout
The two T2 coaches are Schlafwagen type sleeping cars which places this set firmly in the context of RENFE overnight express trains. The red D8 van opens or closes the consist with a contrasting touch that breaks the monotony without looking out of place. Together, the three coaches let you start or extend a passenger train with real coherence across the rolling stock.
Confirmed technical data
The set runs on direct current (DC) on two-rail N scale track. The minimum passing radius is 192 mm, making it compatible with the compact layouts typical of this scale. Couplings are NEM 355 with KK kinematics, the N scale standard and compatible with the rest of the Arnold range and with a large part of the N wagon market.
Integration into the layout
In a night station scene or on a layout with tight curves, these three coaches add length and variety to the train without complicating the track plan. If you already have a RENFE era IV or V locomotive in N scale, this set slots straight onto the end of the consist. And if you want to extend the train further, the T2 coaches and the D8 van from Arnold are also available individually in other catalogue references.
