The ÖBB Taurus 1116 195-9 is one of the most recognisable locomotives in current European night rail traffic, and Fleischmann reproduces it in N scale with the official Nightjet livery: the corporate blue scheme that replaced the earlier star vinyl design. Reference 7570039 comes with a factory-fitted DCC decoder and speaker, ready to run on digital from the moment you open the box.
Official Nightjet livery and factory sound
The model captures the real ÖBB repaint for Nightjet service, with the new official blue scheme in place of the previous star design. The DCC decoder with integrated sound allows playback of motor noise, whistles and other characteristic sound functions of the 1116 series, with independent control from any compatible command station, including the Z21. The tri-directional LED headlights and two red rear lights are switchable in digital mode, with the option to activate the road light independently.
Mechanics and confirmed technical data
The locomotive measures 121 mm in length and works with a minimum radius of 192 mm. The 3-pole motor includes a flywheel for smoother running, with drive distributed across all 4 axles and traction tyres on 2 of them. The short NEM 355 coupler with KK-Kinematik makes coupling with compatible rolling stock straightforward. Officially licensed ÖBB model, corresponding to Era VI.
In an N scale night train consist
On an Era VI layout, the 1116 195-9 fits naturally at the head of a night coach consist: its 121 mm length keeps a balanced visual scale with the hauled stock, and the Nightjet blue livery gives the whole train immediate coherence. In a display cabinet, the current ÖBB corporate paint scheme sets it clearly apart from earlier versions of the same series.
