The gloss white of ECCO Rail is not the most common colour in a freight consist, and that is precisely why it catches the eye on the layout. This Roco set brings together two high-sided open wagons of the Eaos type, owned by Slovak company Axbenet and operated under the ECCO Rail livery the Polish private operator active on European freight corridors. Set in Era VI, both wagons carry different running numbers, making it easy to integrate them into longer consists without the result feeling repetitive.
Two wagons with their own identity in the same box
Roco has struck a good balance between detail and functionality in this set. The Y25 bogies are finely engraved and the wheels are metal, which promotes smooth and stable running. The NEM 362 coupler with KK kinematics reduces the visible gap between buffers on straight track, giving the train a compact, block-like appearance that suits the aesthetic of modern freight trains well. The pad printing includes ECCO Rail logos, UIC specifications and information panels on the white bodywork, all legible at scale.
Confirmed technical data
HO scale (1:87), DC system (direct current). Length over buffers: 322 mm per wagon. Minimum curve radius: 358 mm. Y25 bogies. NEM 362 coupler with KK-Kinematics. Metal wheels. No sound or lighting. Compatible with two-rail track from the main European brands.
In a consist and on the layout
Within an Era VI freight train, these two Eaos wagons add chromatic variety without breaking the coherence of the consist: the white contrasts with the darker wagons more commonly seen, while still reading as a modern freight train. At 322 mm per wagon, two units already occupy a visible stretch on any layout. Expanding the consist with more wagons from the same series naturally reinforces the effect of a long, uniform train.
