The Roco 6600202 brings together four Fans 128 tipping hopper wagons operated by DB AG in a single pack. Each wagon carries a different UIC number, allowing you to build a freight block without repeating markings giving the consist a convincing, real-train look from the first wagon to the last. Coupled together, the four wagons measure 536 mm in length, a track presence that makes itself felt on any HO layout.
An Era VI freight block with its own identity
The Fans 128 wagons are a familiar sight in bulk aggregate and materials traffic within the DB AG fleet. Roco reproduces them here in the company's characteristic rail traffic red, with pad-printed lettering that includes load tables, speed restrictions and corporate markings. The four-axle bogies are finely engraved in relief, and the side-tipping mechanisms are represented in detail on each wagon.
Confirmed technical data
The coupling system follows NEM 362 standards, and the integrated close-coupling kinematics (KK) allow the wagons to run very close together on straight track, reinforcing the compact block effect. The minimum operating radius is 358 mm, compatible with standard HO layouts. The set is factory-configured for two-rail DC analogue systems. For three-rail AC layouts, the wheelsets can be replaced with compatible Roco 40196 axles, though that conversion is not included in the set.
How it fits into the layout
At 536 mm total length, this four-wagon block takes up a generous stretch of track and works well behind a contemporary Era VI traction locomotive. In a yard scene or industrial area, four Fans 128 wagons lined up deliver that working-train feel that is hard to achieve with individual wagons. The individual UIC numbers avoid visual repetition and give the consist a coherence that is especially noticeable when the train is standing at a station or a loading siding.
