The MFTrain N70001 is the ideal entry point into N scale model railways with Spanish rolling stock. Everything you need to run a first layout comes in a single box: locomotive, freight wagons, track, transformer and maintenance accessories. A set designed for those starting from scratch, with no need to source components separately.
RENFE rolling stock and consist
The set includes a RENFE 321-2100 locomotive in Era V-VI livery, paired with a car transporter wagon and a tank wagon. The three vehicles form a coherent freight consist within the Spanish railway context, with a working train feel that fits naturally into any layout scene focused on the national network. On the track, the locomotive leads the consist with ease, while the two wagons add load variety without breaking the unity of the whole.
Kato Unitrack and getting started
The included track is the Kato Unitrack system, with an oval measuring 1377 x 677 mm and a minimum radius of R315-45. It is a straightforward system to assemble, with secure connections and reliable electrical performance common in starter sets but equally at home in more developed layouts. The 12V 3A (36W) transformer and controller allow you to run trains straight away, with no additional equipment needed. Compatibility with the rest of the Unitrack range also leaves the door open to expanding the track plan in the future.
A first layout with real railway character
On a small table or a starter baseboard, the N70001 oval takes up a reasonable footprint for N scale and lets you watch the train run continuously. The RENFE freight consist gives the set thematic coherence from the start, making it easy to keep building in the same direction: more wagons, more track, or a small station scene to give context to the layout. A 2025 set that offers a well-considered starting point with genuine Spanish railway identity.
