The Trix 22319 reproduces the MaK 1206 diesel locomotive Carin, operated by Dutch infrastructure company Strukton Railinfra. Released as a single-run edition, it stands apart within the Trix catalogue and makes for a distinctive piece for anyone working with Era V Dutch prototype material.
Metal construction and bell-type motor
The model combines a die-cast metal chassis and body, with perimeter handrails also in metal. All four axles are powered, and the mechanism features a bell-type motor with flywheel, delivering smooth and progressive running particularly useful during slow shunting moves. Two axles are fitted with traction tyres. Lighting is maintenance-free LED, and the overall length over buffers is 165 mm.
Analogue as standard, digital-ready
The standard version runs on two-rail analogue DC, but includes an 8-pin digital interface to NEM standard, allowing a DCC decoder to be fitted without any modifications to the body. No decoder is included: digitalisation is left to the modeller according to their own control preferences.
On the layout, a works locomotive with real presence
A Strukton MaK 1206 fits naturally into infrastructure maintenance scenes, track renewal sections or Era V shunting yards. Its visual footprint is compact but solid, and the metal finish gives it a weight and presence that reads well both in motion and on the display shelf. Within a working train consist, it brings coherence to the scene without needing anything else added.
