The Roco 63566 reproduces the DB AG BR 145 076-6 in HO scale, set in Era V. A versatile electric locomotive that works equally well at the head of freight or passenger consists, bringing the modern, functional profile that defined German motive power through the nineties and two thousands.
Motor and mechanics: drive to all wheels
The dual flywheel motor with cardan transmission distributes traction across all axles, delivering smooth, controlled running even at low speeds. Two wheels carry rubber tyres for improved adhesion. The locomotive leaves the factory in analogue DC configuration, but includes an 8-pin NEM socket that allows a DCC decoder to be fitted without any further modification to the chassis.
Direction-switched lighting
The BR 145 076-6 comes with fully functional lighting from the start: 3 white lights at the active front end and 2 red lights at the rear, switching automatically when the direction of travel changes. Whether pulling into a station scene or running through a tunnel section, this detail adds real credibility to operations without any adjustment needed.
Fitting into a layout and consist
At 216 mm long and fitted with NEM couplers, the BR 145 slots effortlessly into an Era V consist. Leading a rake of freight wagons or a set of passenger coaches, its modern silhouette ties the train together and gives coherence to a layout themed around contemporary German railways. The NEM couplers make coupling to standard HO scale rolling stock straightforward.
