The BB 67400 is one of the most recognisable diesel classes in the SNCF fleet. Minitrix reproduces it in N scale as BB 667575, in INFRA livery and Época VI, with an mfx/DCC decoder and a sound generator covering horns, diesel engine sounds, brakes, compressor, sanding, air release and a long list of activatable functions. For a scale where sound is not always a given, the result is remarkably complete.
A working diesel with real sound in N scale
The integrated decoder is compatible with both mfx and DCC, making it possible to use all functions on Märklin systems as well as standard DCC controllers. Sound functions include high and low horns, driver's whistle, static announcements, coupling sounds, rail joints, blower motors and more. Lighting is functional and directional: front headlights at the leading end and red tail lights at the rear, each switchable independently. The driver's cab also has its own interior lighting.
Mechanics and geometry for N scale layouts
The 5-pole motor with flywheel and drive spread across all 4 axles with traction tyres ensure smooth running even at low speeds. At 107 mm long with a minimum radius of 192 mm, it fits comfortably into N scale layouts without requiring especially wide curves. The NEM 355 coupler with KK-Kinematik makes integration with other compatible rolling stock straightforward.
On the layout, leading an infrastructure consist
The INFRA livery and Época VI place this BB 667575 in a contemporary working context within the French network. In a depot scene, maintenance yard or service track, it sits naturally at the head of engineering wagons or permanent way stock. It also works well as a shunting locomotive at a sizeable station, where the sound of the diesel engine idling adds life to the scene without needing anything else.
