At 1/18 scale with a Big-Foot high-clearance chassis, this car combines a Class 390 brushed electric drivetrain with full 4WD and four independent long-travel shock absorbers, letting it absorb jumps and rough terrain without losing control. Truly RTR: everything you need in the box
The A979BL arrives as a Ready To Run product in the fullest sense. The box includes the WLtoys A979BL car, a 2.4 GHz proportional digital transmitter with a range of over 100 metres, a 7.4V 1100 mAh Li-Po battery, a USB cell-balance charger and a metal cross wrench for quick trackside maintenance. Nothing extra needed to start running. Run time per charge is between 10 and 12 minutes enough for a solid outdoor session.
4WD, 50 km/h and proportional control
The full-time 4WD system with dual differentials and soft-compound Big-Foot tyres let you run on dirt, gravel, grass or tarmac without changing any setup. Confirmed top speed is 50 km/h, and the transmitter's proportional control lets you manage throttle through corners or on slippery surfaces something you really appreciate when the ground is less than perfect. Chassis dimensions are 253 mm long, 200 mm wide and 115 mm tall, a proportion that gives stability on jumps without sacrificing agility.
WLtoys modular ecosystem and spare parts compatibility
One of the most practical aspects of the A979BL is that it belongs to the WLtoys modular ecosystem: its parts are interchangeable with the A949, A959 and A969 models from the same family. That means battery, motor, differentials and suspension arms share stock with other models in the range, making long-term maintenance straightforward. For those who want to go further, the ecosystem supports upgrades to anodised aluminium components. It is a car that grows with the hobbyist.
