The Roco 6200033 set brings together three EuroCity coaches from Cisalpino, the high-speed tilting train operator that ran international services during Epoch V. The characteristic blue stripe livery of the CIS makes these coaches instantly recognisable on the track, and their presence in a passenger consist immediately evokes the atmosphere of the great cross-border services of the late twentieth century.
Set composition and finish
The set includes one first class Apm coach and two second class Bpm coaches, with a combined length of 909 mm. All three feature NEM 362 couplers with a short close-coupling mechanism, making integration into tight consists straightforward. The interior is fully fitted out, and interior lighting can be added at a later stage using Roco article 40420, with no structural modifications required. The wheels are compatible with Roco article 40196 for AC track.
Reading the consist on the layout
At 909 mm across three coaches, the set already occupies a visually significant stretch of track. On a platform scene, the mix of one first class and two second class coaches reproduces the typical formation of an international passenger service, giving the train a coherent, complete feel without needing additional rolling stock. Combined with the matching locomotive and the complementary set from the same series, the consist gains in length and visual consistency within Epoch V.
System and compatibility
The set runs on DC analogue, making it immediately operational on conventional layouts. The option to add interior lighting as a retrofit allows the visual detail of the set to be enhanced at a later stage, without affecting its use from day one.
