The IC 182 Prinz Eugen is one of those trains that reads instantly on a layout: the DB ocean blue livery with beige stripe identifies the consist at a glance. This second Piko set for reference 58387 expands the train with three additional coaches a first class compartment coach Avmz 111, a second class compartment coach Bm 235 and a second class open saloon Bpmz 291.2 maintaining the visual coherence of the formation and allowing you to build a longer, more representative Epoch IV consist.
Three coaches, a more complete formation
The combination of all three coach types reflects the typical structure of a long-distance intercity service: first class with the Avmz 111 in TEE finish, second class compartments with the Bm 235, and the open saloon of the Bpmz 291.2 adding variety within the same livery. On a layout with a platform of reasonable length, adding this set to the first IC 182 Prinz Eugen pack gives the train the sense of a complete formation that an intercity consist needs to feel convincing.
Confirmed technical details
All three coaches are fitted with NEM couplers with short-curve kinematics and finely detailed bogies, allowing smooth running on layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. Interior lighting is not included as standard, but the coaches are prepared for later installation. The system is DC analogue, compatible with standard direct current layouts.
Integration into the layout and display cabinet
Combined with the first IC 182 Prinz Eugen set, this pack allows you to build a formation of six or more coaches that fills the platform naturally and balances the hauling locomotive visually. The ocean blue and beige livery, characteristic of DB in Epoch IV, ties the whole consist together and makes the train work just as well running on the layout as displayed in a cabinet.
