The Minitrix 18435 is the Bnrz 450.3 passenger coach of German private operator GfF in N scale. It reproduces the unit's operational condition from 2021 onwards, within Epoch VI, with a livery that makes it instantly recognisable among fans of modern German private railways: a silver-grey bodywork crossed by a continuous dark blue stripe at window height, which has earned it the popular nickname Blauling.
The GfF "Blauling" in N scale
The livery of this coach is one of the most striking paint schemes in the contemporary German private railway scene. The dark blue stripe running the full length of the coach, combined with bright blue doors against the silver-grey base, creates a very clear visual identity within a consist. In an Epoch VI regional formation, this coach stands out easily from more neutral rolling stock, and that contrast is precisely what gives the GfF set its coherence and character.
Confirmed technical data
The coach measures 165 mm over buffers and accepts a minimum radius of 192 mm. It features a short KK-Kinematik coupler with a standardised NEM 355 pocket, allowing a close fit between buffers and bellows on straight track. The metal wheels are factory-insulated, so the coach runs without issue on both analogue and digital layouts. The interior is ready to accept LED lighting via the official Minitrix 66612 or 66616 kits, with internal guides and mounting points already integrated into the chassis.
Role within the consist
This coach is designed as an expansion piece within a GfF regional formation. On the layout, adding one or more Blauling coaches to an existing consist extends the train naturally and reinforces the operator's visual identity. The 165 mm length in N scale gives the coach a well-proportioned presence on the track plan, and the colour scheme adds rhythm and coherence to the formation from the very first glance.
