The Märklin 4411 is a DB Gs-uv 213 covered goods wagon in HO scale, designed to occupy the last position in a freight consist. Its most distinctive feature is the illuminated tail light, which on the layout marks the end of the train with the same visual reading it had on the real railway during Era IV.
Tail light: the finishing touch of the consist
The illuminated rear light gives this wagon a function within the train, not just as an additional load. The integrated current-collecting shoe allows the lighting to work directly from the third rail, with no batteries or extra wiring needed. The remteken brake signal completes the functional details of the model. The road number 21 80 131 5 016-2 appears in crisp, legible lettering, and the silver roof adds a recognisable visual contrast within the series.
Confirmed technical data
Single covered goods wagon, 11.5 cm long measured over buffers. Designed for the Märklin three-rail alternating current system. The axles can be replaced with DC-compatible axles using Märklin item E700580, allowing the wagon to be adapted for two-rail layouts if needed.
On the layout, at the back of the train
Placed as the last wagon in an Era IV freight consist, the 4411 closes the train with visual coherence. The lit tail light adds a point of light that brings the whole composition to life, especially in station scenes or night-time sections of the layout. It is a wagon with a clear purpose on the track plan: marking where the train ends.
