Atlantique livery in Z scale
The grey and blue combination of the Atlantique livery reads clearly even in Z scale, where every millimetre counts. Azar Models has developed this reference with reversible front and rear LED lighting, allowing the train to maintain visual coherence in both directions of travel particularly useful in high-speed consists where the direction of the train is part of the scene.
Confirmed technical details
The set is designed for 2-rail track and accepts a minimum radius of 195 mm, which indicates the type of layout needed for a consist of this length to run naturally. Z scale (1/220) makes it possible to fit a 10-element TGV into layouts where other scales simply would not fit, without sacrificing the visual presence of a high-speed train.
Role within the consist
This set is not designed to run independently: its purpose is to complete a TGV PSE formation alongside the power cars and additional coaches from the same series. On a layout with a station or viaduct, the intermediate coaches are what give the train its real length and allow the consist to fill the platform in the right proportion. Without them, the convoy looks visually incomplete; with them, the TGV gains the rhythm and continuity that define it.
