The mechanic is the same one that has made Hitster such a recognisable table game: each player builds their own timeline by placing songs in chronological order, without seeing the year until the moment comes to check whether they got it right. What sets this edition apart is the repertoire, which turns every session into a sonic journey through decades of rock music.
A game played with your ears and your musical memory
The gameplay relies on the free Hitster app, which scans the QR codes on the cards and automatically plays the corresponding song through Spotify. You do not need to know the exact year: you simply decide whether that track came before, after or between the songs already lined up on your table. The 37 included tokens add an extra layer of tension, letting other players try to capitalise on each other's mistakes. The first player to correctly line up ten songs wins the round.
Format and compatibility
The box includes 308 music cards with individual QR codes and 37 game tokens. The product is available in multilingual format and requires no batteries. It does require an internet connection and the Hitster app installed on an iOS or Android device with access to Spotify, both Premium and Free versions. It can be played independently or combined with other versions of the Hitster collection to expand the repertoire and the number of players.
