At a scale modelling workbench, there are moments when hand sanding does not quite reach and a rotary tool does too much. The Proxxon PS 13 exists precisely for those moments. Its special DC motor produces a reciprocating linear motion not rotary that allows you to work very small surfaces with a level of control conventional tools simply cannot offer. At 8,000 strokes per minute with a 2.5 mm stroke, the result is precise, clean and repeatable.
A tool that changes the way you work detail
Linear sanding has a clear advantage over rotary on small parts: it does not drag material in a spiral or leave circular marks. The PS 13 works in a straight line, making it especially useful in slots, recesses and hard-to-reach corners those spots where the final finish of a model kit or a restored piece is won or lost. At just 130 g and 160 mm long, it handles comfortably through long sessions without tiring the hand.
Contents and compatibility
The PS 13 arrives ready to use: it includes 4 straight inserts, 4 angled inserts in different profiles and 3 sheets of self-adhesive abrasive paper in grits K180, K240 and K400, pre-cut to fit each insert. To operate it requires an external power supply compatible with the Proxxon MICROMOT system: models NG 2/S, NG 2/E or NG 5/E with a minimum of 1 A cover the 12 to 18 V DC range the tool requires.
