The MICROMOT 60/E is Proxxon's benchmark rotary tool for precision work: drilling, milling, engraving and polishing with full speed control and a spindle that leaves no room for imprecision. Compact, well-balanced and designed for long sessions of fine work.

  • Variable speed from 5,000 to 20,000 rpm with electronic control and feedback.
  • Includes 6 precision steel collets (1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.4, 3.0 and 3.2 mm) and storage case.
  • Length 220 mm, body diameter 35 mm; compatible with MICROMOT accessories with 20 mm collar.

Description

On a well-equipped workbench, there are tools you use and tools you rely on. The Proxxon MICROMOT 60/E clearly belongs to the second group. It is the 4th generation of a line that has been the choice of scale modellers, jewellers, electronics technicians and precision mechanics for decades people who need real control over what they do, not approximations.

Speed control that works with you, not against you

The stepless electronic speed control with feedback effect is what sets this tool apart from a conventional rotary. Speed stays stable under load: when the bit meets resistance, the motor compensates without any adjustment on your part. The range runs from 5,000 to 20,000 rpm, allowing everything from gentle passes on delicate materials to more demanding work on metal, wood, glass or ceramic. The permanent magnet DC motor is balanced to minimise vibration and noise something you genuinely appreciate during long, fine-detail sessions.

Spindle, collets and workbench ergonomics

The precision ball-bearing spindle ensures concentric clamping that shows in the result: no runout, no vibration introduced by the tool itself. The included set of 6 steel collets covers the most common diameters in scale modelling and precision work: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.4, 3.0 and 3.2 mm. The body measures 220 mm in length with a 35 mm diameter, and the grip zone incorporates a soft component that improves control during extended work. It is compatible with the full range of MICROMOT accessories with a 20 mm collar, which considerably expands its possibilities. Requires an external MICROMOT transformer of at least 1.0 A and voltage between 12 and 18 V DC, not included. For those already working within the Proxxon ecosystem, it fits in without complications; for those just starting out, it is a good reason to build that ecosystem.

A tool that changes the pace of the workbench

In scale modelling, the difference between a basic rotary tool and a MICROMOT 60/E shows in the details that come out right first time: a centred hole, a clean engraving, a polish with no marks. This is not a tool to keep in a drawer; it is the kind that ends up with a permanent spot on the bench because it gets used on almost every project. It comes with a case to keep the collets organised and protected which says a great deal about how Proxxon understands precision work.
